This morning our tour headed to the home of the infamous Nazi trials - Nurenberg. We learned that there were multiple trials. They were separated out depending on key figure heads, doctors, lawyers, administration, and whether damage was caused to one particular area or regional. We drove by the exact courthouse and the guide pointed out the exact courtroom. We were told that Nurenberg was mainly chosen because the U.S. wanted a location with minimal prisoner transport. The opening portion was held in Berlin but the remainder was held here. Unfortunately, it's pretty impossible to take photos from a bus, especially on the opposite side. We also saw what Hitler wanted to be the largest rally grounds; however, it was never completed. Even though it was never finished, it's massive:
Next we drove by Zeplin Field and then to the Nurenberg Castle to get a panoramic view of the old town. We ended up in the old town at the Christmas Market.
Pretty amazing and, yes, I helped the local economy. Tried a local sausage sandwich and took a carriage ride around the old town.
I visited a few churches - have no clue why I'm fascinated by them but...St. Sebaldus Kirche:

There were several children's choirs performing which added to the atmosphere.
We had a wonderful dinner here at the hotel - cream of mushroom soup, pork in pepper sauce with carrots and potato cakes and chocolate mousse with fruit and whipcream.
Tomorrow we head to the land of the Sound of Music.
